Bhai Tika

Tihar which is also known as Bhai Tika is one of the most renowned and 2nd largest Hindu festivals in Nepal. Tihar is also known as Lighting Festival Deepawali among the people. We have five days long festival begin from the thirteenth day of the waning moon in October with worshiping to Crow on first day of festival feeding with some food as the messenger of the Death. Second day is belong to Dog day because , Goddess Laxmi “Goddess of Wealth” on third day, Ox on 4th day and Bhai Tika on Day 5th. This festival makes real sounds with Worshipping of Goddess Laxmi on day 3rd, All the Hindus celebrate with Deepawali with light, Colors varieties of fruits and Flowers offering to make happy to the wealth goddess Laxmi. Hindus Legends says that she was formed from the Ocean and she has all the wealth like seas, they also believed that she sits on full-grown lotus and make the world tour by her vehicle Owl to see how the people worshipping her on this special occasion. The main day of Tihar “Bhai Tika” are the sisters praying for their brother’s long life from Yama Raj, god of the underworld in Hindus Legends.
