This quaint Hill Stations is ideal place to get away, enjoy the fresh air, soak up the mountain views and discover Nepal’s rich culture. This place is very famous for outing of the people in Kathmandu valley for picnic with friends and family to escape from city life. Trexmount Ventures also give you the option either hikes or drive back to Bhaktapur on your interest, This 4 hours hiking from Nagarkot to Changunarayan (outskirt of Kathmandu valley) offers you awesome view of Kathmandu valley with cool walking through the local village & lovely harvesting land and vegetated hill.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu: O/N Hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu City tour
: Visit into Pashupatinath., Buddhanath, Swyambhunath and Patan Durbar Squire. O/N Hotel (Meals- B).

Day 03: Nagarkot:
Drive by private Vehicle into Nagarkot, Hike around into the Hill station.

Day 04: Bhaktapur: Breakfast, 3 hours Hike through the country side hill to Changunarayan and Drive to Bhaktapur, activities O/N Hotel (Meals- B).

Day 05: Departure: After having breakfast in the morning, you will be transferred to the airport for your returning flight. (Meals- B). Good bye & happy journey.

 

Itinerary Detail

Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu:
Our Representative will come to pick up you with holding sign “Trexmount Ventures” from the Airport & Transfer to the Hotel.  Our Tour Leader will take pre departure meeting in the Hotel or in the  Trexmount Ventures head office; Briefing will cover your whole itinerary, collecting your Documents such as copy of passport, Travel insurances and tour voucher.

Day 02: Kathmandu:
Your Tour Guide will come to the Hotel at 9 am and Drive to Swayambhunath : This temple is one of the most enchanting glorious and the oldest Buddhist stupas into the western part of kathmandu Valley. it crowns a hill overlooking the Kathmandu Valley offers fantastic view. The gold platted Stupa made in 5th Century is also into the world heritage site and one of the powerful pilgrimage site for Buddhist where the Red-clad Monks lives and pray to their deities. There are Painted eyes on the four sides of the spire bases, the symbol of Buddha’s clairvoyant powers. Legend has it that the history of the Valley began with the draining of an ancient lake by an Enlightened Being to reveal the Valley and a lotus flower was transformed into the hill and the shining light became the stupa itself.  

Patan Durbar Squire: Patan is one of the Major city of Nepal which is also a Business hub for city. Patan also known for its rich culture Heritage, particularly its tradition of arts & Crafts. This is also known as city of Festival & Feast.  The squire it self is cluster of pagoda & Stone temples, Legends & History is another interesting part for the visitors.

Pashupatinath; One of the biggest Hindus temple of Lord Shiva in the world. It is regarded as most sacred among the Temples of Lord Shiva. Only Hindus believers are allowed to enter the Temple Premises. Non Hindu Visitors are allowed to have a look at the Temples from other bank of Bagmati River.This Temple has gold pinnacle which is a symbol of religious thought.
TheTemple is of Pagoda style architecture, it has four main doors, all covered with silver sheets and two level roofs are of coppers with gold covering. There is a statue of large bull near to the western door which is also cover in gold. There is a small river by the side of the Temple which is believed as Holy River, Hindus believe that they will go into the Heaven if they cremate into the bank of this river. So there will be many cremations going every day. The Temple is listed into UNESCO world heritage site.

And then Drive into Buddhanath Stupa : This is one of the major focal point for Buddhist. The stupa, also into the World Heritage Site, It looms 36 meters high and presents one of the most fascinating specimens of stupa design. There are more than 45 Buddhist monasteries in the area. This area also known as little Tibet because there were many Tibetan Refugees came there in 1950’s and stayed there.

Day 03: Nagarkot:
Breakfast & Drive into Nagarkot which is into the outskirt of kathmandu Valley, hike to view tower to see the great Himalayan Range including Mt: Everest & scenic view of 360 degree  & exploring around, see the sun set view. O/N Hotel.

Day 04: Bhaktapur:  
Breakfast , You will be hiking into the Nepalese countryside to the oldest hindu Temple Changunarayan which is found in 5th century, after the hike Drive to Bhaktapur, which is Ancient Arts, Culture and historical city.  Bhaktapur is listed as a World Heritage by UNESCO for its rich culture, temples, and wood, pottery farm, metal and stone artwork. This is an ancient Newar town in the east corner of the Kathmandu Valley. Translated Bhaktapur means the city of devotees. The most laid back of the three valley towns its narrow brick paved streets harbor hidden shrines and statues around every corner. It is the third largest city in Kathmandu valley and was once the capital of Nepal during the great Malla Kingdom until the second half of the 15th century where 55 windows palace still can be seen. We will Transfer into the Airport for your flight back home. Spend a night in a very ancient city Bhaktapur. O/N Hotel.

Note: If you like to drive instead of hike please let us know early which is possible instead.

Day 05: Departure:
After having breakfast in the morning, you will be transferred to the airport for your returning flight. (Meals- B). Good bye & happy journey.

Note: 
If you are wearing glasses, it is advisable to bring a spare pair. If you wear contact lenses you may find that climatic changes and dust can create visual irritation, therefore, it is advisable to bring a pair of glasses.

For Water Purification: You should not drink the water from the tap in Nepal because of bacteria. You can either use water purification or buy the bottle of water. Now a days, some people are bringing their own water filter which is very impressive & useful.
Bottled mineral water and boiled water are available for purchase throughout Trekking.  However, water purification tablets or your own filter can be useful with your interest.

Pre Tour Departure Meeting:
Trexmount Ventures will write or inform you what time to hold the Pre Tour Departure meeting at very First day of the Tour schedule date. This meeting is held to discuss the tour itinerary & its related information’s in more detail, meet your crew and fellow passengers with our Tour Leader or Manager. 

In addition, Our Tour Leader will check that all passengers have the necessary travel documents. All passengers MUST bring following Documents original or copy of them at the time of Pre Tour Meeting:

Passport: Your passport is a valuable document and you should exercise extreme care in keeping it safe. We recommend that you keep your passport on you at all times, preferably in a money belt that is worn under your clothing. We advise that you take copies of relevant pages in your passport and any visas that you may purchase in case of loss or damage. Your tour leader will require your passport details at the pre-departure meeting. Again, we recommend that you have a photocopy of your passport details, kept separate. Your passport must be valid for six months after the END of your tour, and must have one blank page for each country to be visited.

Visa Requirements: You can either processed tourist visas from any Nepalese Embassy or you can get visit visa on arrival in Nepal. Please note that; Once the visa is issued, it will not be amended, revalidated and visa fees will not be refunded. Personal cheques and credit cards are not accepted for visa fees so the Visitors need to have USD Cash, the exact amount of USD Cash for Visa Fee is more sufficient. Visitors who wanted to get tourist visa at arrival, they can obtain into following arrival points in Nepal: 
        Tribhubhan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu| Kodari| Kakarbhitta|  Birgunj| Belhiya Bhairahawa | Nepalgunj |Dhangadi | Mahendranagar.
      REQUIREMENTS for Visa is as following:
    Valid Passport (with a validity of a minimum period of six months)
    duly completed Visa application form.
    Two PP size Photograph.
    Visa fees easier to be paid in cash.        
 Visa fees at arrival points in Nepal: Visa for 15 days = $25, For 30 days = $40, For 90 days = $100.
Please also note that: Nationals of the following countries must apply for a tourist visa through Nepalese Embassies as they do not get visas on arrival at the entry points of Nepal.

Note: Nigeria | Ghana | Zimbabwe | Swaziland | Cameroon | Somalia | Liberia| Ethiopia| Iraq| Palestine and Afghanistan’s Travel Document holders (Passport holder) should apply for a tourist visa at the Nepalese Embassy.

Entry validity: The validity of visa dates is counted from the date of arrival in Nepal which is Six months from the date of issue.

Visa Extension: A tourist visa can be extended from the Department of Immigration in kathmandu and Pokhara Immigration Office for a total of 120 days. Over the course of a visa year, a tourist cannot stay in Nepal more than cumulative 150 days.

Safe Travel:

  • Do not take unnecessary valuables with you.
  • A money belt, or something similar, worn close to your body is the best way to carry passports, airline tickets, money and other Valuables.
  • DO NOT leave any valuables in ANY hotel room in Asia, please use SAFETY DEPOSIT BOXES in the Hotel. Items are left at the individual’s risk.
  • Pickpockets operate everywhere, particularly in tourist areas and in crowded markets; you must always exercise care.
  • Be aware that anything left lying around will also be liable to theft.


Equipments & Packing: You need to prepare with the seasonal clothing as Nepal has got variation in climate. If you are doing trekking and going above 3000m you need warm clothing all year round.

Daypack: This is a small rucksack to carry personal & valuable items; such as camera, Water bottle, money, passport, towel, toilet items, soap, rain coat or things you need during the hiking in the day.

Camera & film, Spare passport photos, Water bottle, Money belt, Torch, Sewing kit, Sunhat/ Sunglasses, ipods, Books, Wet Ones, Soap to wash clothes, Writing materials, Swiss Army knife, Calculator, Personal toiletries, including tampons, Contraceptives, Insect Repellent, Sunscreen.

Vaccinations: No vaccinations are compulsory unless coming from a yellow fever infected region but we do recommend you are covered for: *diphtheria & TB, hepatitis A, *hepatitis B, *malaria, typhoid, polio and tetanus. NB* a Yellow Fever certificate is required if arriving from infected areas.

For traveling in the countryside and remote areas, immune globulin is also recommended to combat hepatitis A. We advise you to bring along a supply of antibiotics, an anti-diarrhea agent, and any other prescription drugs required by your current medical conditions.

Vaccination requirements are subject to change and should be confirmed before departure.

You may need additional inoculations so please contact your GP or a travel medical centre for further information. Please consult your doctor for up-to-date information and prescriptions for vaccinations, anti-malarial requirements and any reasonably foreseeable illnesses whilst traveling into Asia.

Note: Please don’t forget to do over all check up with your Doctor & get advice whether your health permit or not to go into the region.

  • you know your blood group in case of emergency
  • if you have any pre-existing medical conditions which might affect you on tour, you make these known to your Travel Agent at the time of your booking

Medical Supplies

We advise that all passengers bring along their own personal first aid kit. Below is a list of some recommended items:

Band aids/bandages, laxatives, upset stomach remedy, anti-diarrhea remedy, Panadol/Aspirin, rehydration remedy, antiseptic cream/powder, sterile dressings, any relevant course of medication such as contraceptive pills.

Currency: The official currency in Nepal is Rupee, The most commonly use symbol for Rupee is NPR or Rs. One Rupee’s is divided into 100 Paisa.  There are coins for denominations of one, two, five and ten rupees and bank notes in denominations of 1,2, 5, 10, 20, 25, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 rupees.
There is no restriction on the amount of foreign currency or travelers checks brought into Nepal. 

Money Exchange: Nepal Rastra Bank (National Bank) does set the exchange rate and listed into daily news paper & website. There are many money changer counters and Banks in the cities at where you can change your cash money. When you are changing money officially, you need to show your passport and get receipt with your identity.  The Hotels do change the money however they do have lower rate.

There are Various ATM Machines into the main cities like Kathmandu, pokhara and so on. At where you can get cash (only Nepalese Rupee) on both Visa and MasterCard’s 24 hours a day. Usually you can draw Maximum 30,000 NPR a day from your Card.

Accommodations: We have put a lot of thought and effort into locating the most appropriate type of accommodation for each tour. It will always be clean, comfortable and of a very high standard. Accommodation for Nepal trips is in a combination of good standard tourist class hotels and Guest Houses in the Treks operated by the local people, which offer Twin Sharing accommodations, please be prepared for the common Bathrooms during the trekking.

If you wish to spend a few additional days in your start city before the departure of your tour, then we can arrange accommodation for you. On the last day of the tour we usually arrive at our final destination in the late afternoon, when the tour ends. If you would like to book accommodation for that night or even stay additional nights, we will be more than happy to arrange this for you as well. All our accommodation is carefully chosen, conveniently located, clean and comfortable.

Travel Insurance: Travel insurance is compulsory for all Unique Path tours. All clients MUST be insured to cover personal accident, medical expenses, cancellation, curtailment and repatriation. Please Note you should check that your insurance policy is adequate for Trekking & Tours Nepal. 

Tipping & Bargaining: Tipping in Nepal is not mandatory but it is expected by the guides, porters and Tour Driver, any gratuities for good service will be gratefully accepted at the end of the tour.

Bargaining is kind of culture, especially in markets when hiring the Local Vehicles, Buying the Jewelries and Clothing.

Luggage: Standard Domestic airline baggage restrictions apply. Usually this is 15 kg for each passengers and one small piece of carry-on luggage.

TRAVEL TIP: You might be tempted to buy a few souvenirs here and there, so leave a little room for those extra purchases!

Departure Tax: Nepal Domestic Flight departure taxes are not included in your flight ticket, there are some departure tax apply (approx. NRS 200) for Domestic Flight.

Climate: Nepal has got amazing variation in climate, Ranges from high mountain valleys to tropical lowland vegetation, allowing visitor to enjoy the varieties of climates. Nepal has got four climate seasons spring (March to May), summer (June to August), autumn (Sep to November) and winter (December to February).

Spring is colorful seasons but the heat gets gradually builds till the monsoon starts. The Monsoon starts from Bay of Bangle at the end of June to middle of September, We do get approx. 80% of annual rainfall in the monsoon. Autumn is known as clear sky, pleasant temperature and great atmosphere. With variation in the climate we do get different temperature in the country, Kathmandu hardly go below Zero degree Celsius at maximum coldest in the year.    

Water: You should not drink the water from the tap in Nepal because of bacteria.
You can either use water purification or buy the bottle of water. Now a day, some people are bringing their own water filter which is very impressive & useful.

Photography: Photography is on of the important part of the holiday that carries the memory of holiday in the photos.  Please remember, we are guests in the countries through which we travel and we may sometimes inadvertently cause offence by taking photographs without first asking permission.
It is absolutely forbidden by law to take photos at any borders, as they are all active military installation.
