Tibet Cycling Tour

Mountain Biking in Tibet is giving a real experience for Adventure sports lover. The land space & biking into such altitude will make the real challenge & story in the life time. It will begin from Lhasa & End into Nepal. This three weeks tour will make upto the Everest Base Camp with Few high passes in Tibet.You will also get to see Tibetan culture, history and natural fascination of Tibet. A visit to significant places like Rongphu Monastery, Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple will be the most memorable experience.

You will be captivated seeing the view of the great North face of Mount Everest, the most spectacular of all, known as Mount Qumulangma in Tibetan Language which literally means "The Third Goddess". Towering 8848.13 meters in the central section of the Himalayas, Quomolangma is full of snow-capped peaks and glaciers. Everest region has four peaks above 8000 meters and 38 peaks above 7000 meters, thus is reputed as the highest peak on the Earth. Also, you will experience the local culture; delight yourself with magnificent mountain views, lush forested valleys, and opportunities to learn about the Tibetan religion. May, June, July and August is best season for the Tibet Everest base camp tour.

From Kathmandu you take a flight to Lhasa and after exploring Lhasa city, we return to the legendary city Gyantse, Shaigatse and Old Tingri which have enthralling sights of the mystical valley before heading to our journey. Moreover, you will have an excursion to the Sera and Drepung monasteries the largest monastic institutions in the world. The Chorten tombs of three Dalai Lamas are sited at Drepung. You will be touring alongside the beautiful turquoise lake on the way to the historic town of Gyantse with its unique multi-storied Kumbum Stupa. At Shigatse walk through the massive Tashilungpo monastery and visit the memorial 'Chorten' of the late Panchen Lama.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive kathmandu: Pick up into the Airport, Transfer into the Hotel & Briefing about the Whole tour with collecting Passport, Insurance, 2 PP size photo, Flight itinerary to reconfirmed followed by Welcome Dinner. (Meals- D)

Day 2: Kathmandu: Visit Historical & Cultural Hub of kathmandu Swoyambhunath, Buddhanath, Pashupatinath and Patan Durbar Square with Car or Hiace. (Meals- B)

Day 3: Kathmandu: Ride your Bike after Breakfast & Reach to Lakuri Bhanjung in to the outskirt of kathmandu & back into the Hotel which will give you a little warm up. (Meals- B)      

Day 4: Lhasa: Morning Flight to Gonker Airport with China Air, Transfer into the Hotel & Free time to Acclimatize with the Altitude. (Meals- B)      

Day 5 / 6 : Lhasa: City Tour in Lhasa & Visit into Norbulinga Monastery, Durpang Monastery, Sera Monastery, Potala Palace, Bharkar Market. ( If you like you can go into short Warm up Ride on Day 6 Afternoon.  (Meals- B)      

Day 7: Nagartze (Distant 183 km): Breakfast in the Hotel, Start toward Nagartze, you will ride approx. 50km & Drive the Rest. (Meals- B)      

Day 8: Gyantse (Distant 110 km): Ride approx. 70 km & Drive the Rest. (Meals- B).

 Day 9: Shigatse (Distant 96 km): Drive & Ride to Shigatse (Meals- B).

Day 10: Tashilhunpo Monastery (Distant 93 km):  Drive & Ride to the Monastery (Meals- B).

Day 11: Lhatse (Distant 160 km):  Drive & Ride to Lhatse via Two Passes (Tra La & Tso La) (Meals- B).

Day 12: Tingri (Distant 70 km): Drive & Ride through the Highest pass Gyatso La (5200m) in the tour. (Meals- B).

Day 13: Rongbuk (Distant 160 km): Drive & Ride through the two high passes to Rongbuk. (Meals- B).

Day 14: EBC & Tingri (Distant 185 km): Drive or Ride to EBC & Back to Tingri (Meals- B).

Day 15: Near La Lalung La pass (Distant 70 km): Ride to before the Lalung la pass. (Meals- B).

Day 16: Nylamu (Distant 85 km): Ride to Nylamu Village. (Meals- B).

Day 17: Dhulikhel (Distant 135 km): Ride & Drive to Dhulikhel Via Kodari which is a boarder between Nepal & Tibet (China). (Meals- B).

Day 18: Kathmandu (Distant 30 km): Drive to Kathmandu & Free time in kathmandu. (Meals- B).

Day 19: Kathmandu: Rest day & Free time, Evening Farewell Dinner .  (Meals- B | D).

Day 20: Departure: Transfer into the Airport.  Goodbye & Happy Journey. (Meals- B).

Equipments and Packing

Equipments & Packing: You need to prepare with the seasonal clothing as Nepal has got variation in climate.

FOOT WEAR: Comfortable Walking Shoe, Socks, Camp Shoes or Sandals.

CLOTHING: Fleece Jacket or Pullover, Waterproof Jacket and Trousers, Shirts and T-Shirts, Long Under Wear, Lightweight Cotton Long Pants, Short Under Wear, Sunglasses, Sun Hat or Scarf, Rain Coat.

Seasonal Equipments: (For Late Autumn and winter time): Warm Jacket, Warm Pants, Warm Trouser, Gloves, Thick Socks, and Woolen Hat.

OTHER EQUIPMENT: Daypack, Water Bottle (1), Sunglasses, Flashlight with Spare Bulbs, Sun Cream, Gaiters, Lip Salve.

PERSONAL EFFECTS: Camera & film, Spare passport photos, Water bottle, Money belt, Torch, Sewing kit, Sunhat/ Sunglasses, ipods, Books, Wet Ones, Soap to wash clothes, Writing materials, Swiss Army knife, Calculator, Personal toiletries, including tampons, Contraceptives, Insect Repellent, Sunscreen.

NOTE: If you wear glasses, it is advisable to bring a spare pair since opticians are uncommon. If you wear contact lenses you may find that climatic changes and dust can create visual irritation, therefore, it is advisable to bring a pair of glasses.

Daypack: This is a small rucksack to carry personal & valuable items; such as camera, Water bottle, money, passport, towel, toilet items, soap, rain coat or things you need during the hiking in the day.

Arriving in Nepal & Transfers: Please provide us with your flight arrival details in Nepal so that we can arrange a free transfer to the hotel in Kathmandu. Pre Tour Departure Meeting:
Trexmount Ventures will write or inform you what time to hold the Pre Tour Departure meeting at very First day of the Tour schedule date. This meeting is held to discuss the tour itinerary & its related information’s in more detail, meet your crew and fellow passengers with our Tour Leader or Manager.

In addition, Our Tour Leader will check that all passengers have the necessary travel documents. All passengers MUST bring following Documents original or copy of them at the time of Pre Tour Meeting:

4. Your Two each Passport size photo for Permit

Passport: Your passport is a valuable document and you should exercise extreme care in keeping it safe. We recommend that you keep your passport on you at all times, preferably in a money belt that is worn under your clothing. We advise that you take copies of relevant pages in your passport and any visas that you may purchase in case of loss or damage. Your tour leader will require your passport details at the pre-departure meeting. Again, we recommend that you have a photocopy of your passport details, kept separate. Your passport must be valid for six months after the END of your tour, and must have one blank page for each country to be visited.

PREPARATION : Before you are planning the tour, you should be aware that it is rigorous and challenging trip where you have to spend your times at high altitudes. Particularly cardiac or respiratory, should consult a doctor before deciding to undertake the trip. So, at least 2 month regular practice is recommended either 2 hour daily running, swimming, or joining on a health club may help to complete the Tour successfully. Reduce drinking alcoholic beverage & smoking habits. Consult your Doctor to assess the state of your health to function safely within your own limitations. In addition to the personal prescriptions by your physician, a First Aid Kit is essential for the travel because Medical facilities are far from the places.

Documents: You are advised to own a small waist pouch or document bag to manage the following documents properly; Passport with Photostat copies Photographs, Identity card, Diary for addresses, contacts, small notes etc, Ball pens with spare refills Maps/Charts/Books etc. Travel Cheques, credit cards & Currency. Airline/Railway tickets/vouchers, any other document for personal purposes.

Options: Carry Multi vitamins and vitamin-C tablets are required for daily consumption as a routine. Glucose-based items [mints, toffees, and mini chocolate bars for periodical consumption at high altitudes for energy.

Additionally: – Carry extra money [In addition to the tour cost] for personal needs or emergency. Cash is always convenient but credit card is accepted in Nepal. You can exchange your currency into Chinese currencies at the border. The unspent Chinese currency can be reconverted on return.
