Overview

Trexmount Ventures has designed this tour as a remarkable and fascinating Journey to explore the Central Bhutan with combination of tours and trekking. We have picturesque views of pure greenery hills and valleys with the historical 17th century Jakar Dzong (Fort), the stunning snow capped peaks. This scenic short trek starts from Bumthang after visiting the Tongsa country village. We trek into Bhutan’s remote, isolated areas and country side farm villages and traverse the high Pele-la  (3,150 m-10,335 ft) and Phephe-la (3,340 m-10,958 ft), the highest point of this awesome journey. We will visit Jakkar and Ngang Lhakhang villages as the journey continues to Tang Valley, ending the trek at Ugyenchholing village.

Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, is one of world’s quietest and coolest cities. We will visit Ta-Dzong, converted now into a National Museum, and the famous Taksang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest) perched on a rocky cliff side. This interesting journey then leads to central Bhutan around Bumthang valley. This small country, Bhutan, is enriched with culture, old traditions ‘similar to Tibetans’ and is the only Buddhist kingdom around Himalaya. It is also last bastion of Mahayana Buddhism. It sits against the backdrop of the great Himalaya range. Buddhist spirits permeate almost all aspects of Bhutanese culture. Prayer flags flutter on the hills, temples and dzong (fort) villages dot the hilly landscapes, and religious festivals are celebrated all the year around.

This great trip concludes with a drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city, and then to Paro followed by a sweeping scenic 1.25 flight back to Kathmandu.  During the flight on Druk Airlines photograph super views: an array of snow capped peaks including Mt. Everest in the background and as the plane flies over and then touches down at Kathmandu international airport. Our Trexmount Venture’s staff will transfer you back to your hotel after an awesome Trek & Tour of Central Bhutan.

Tour in Bhutan - Canada
Reviewed on 11/Aug/2013

Thank you Trexmount Ventures for your great hospitality and taking care for everything into our Bhutan trip from begin to Finish the tour. Hari at Trexmount Ventures organized a 10 days Bhutan trip for my husband and I in March of 2013. This was our third trip, (2 trips prior to Nepal) organized through Haris company. Once again everything was taken care of with great professionalism, from pick up at the airport, hotel reservation, flight tickets to Paro, hiring of a great guide and driver in Bhutan and meeting with us again once we returned to Kathmandu. This trip could not have been organized better. Thank you Hari once again for your great hospitality. You are the best. Traut & Peter Barber Canada
