Overview

Langtang Gosaikunda Trekking was explored and pioneered by Tilman in the early 1950’s AD. Trexmount Ventures has set this magnificent attraction to enjoy the varieties of experience in the Himalaya. Exploring the massive Himalayan range with beauty of landscape, local life style, lovely forest and wildlife including Red Panda are highlighted in this trip. Trek through deep valley to high terrain pristine, contrasted with amazing snow capped and multi ethnic networks are making glorious experience. The beautiful hill stations, lakes and Gosaikunda pass are more feature of the trip. The majority of Tamang community lives in this langtang valley. They are culturally influence from Tibetan Buddhist. Gosaikunda Lake Trekking

Langtang Gosaikunda Trekking starts with following scenic river valley to reach Langtang Village. This village is newly settled after the damaged from devastating Earthquake in 2015. Hiking continues to final destination to Kyanjin Gumpa situated into the lap of surrounded Mountains. The hike to Chori Khuri Ri is a beauty of heaven. It is an exceptional hike setting panoramic beauty with layers of high Himalaya range. Trek returns through valley with bring to Sybru Gaun and heading toward Gosaikunda Lake via Shing Gompa cheese factory. This part of the trekking is steep ascending to reach Gosainkunda lake (4,381 m-14,373ft high). Gosaikunda is a holy spot for Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage. They do have special ceremony in August. The pilgrimages have strong belief to washes life time sin away after dipping their whole body in the lake.

This Langtang Gosaikunda Trekking is not only rich in exploring local culture and heritage site. It has also spectacular views of amazing high Himalayan encircled by giant snow capped peaks. The magnificent views of Ganesh Himal (7,405m), Langtang Lirung (7,234m), Ghengu Liru (6571m), Kimshun (6,745m), Shalbachum(6,918m) together with Naya-Kanga (5,846m) and beautiful Fluted Peak. Furthermore, Annapurna I (8,091m), Annapurna South (7,219m), Mt. Manaslu at 8,163 m is shinning sight to experience. Beyond, it extends to the Jugal Himal terminating in Dorje Lakpa (6,980m) and in the east the upper meadows of the Langtang end in a massive mountain wall, forming the frontier with Mt. Shisapangma (8,013 m-26,289 ft) in Tibet.

Langtang Gosaikunda Trekking continues toward Gosinkund pass (4,609 m-15,121 ft) and get to the Helambu area where we will descend through farms lands, terraces, rural villages with ever present snow capped mountain views all the way to Chisopani. Spend a night in this lovely spot which is famous for panoramic mountains before heading down to Sundarijal on the edge of Kathmandu valley.

  • Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi (1,460 m-4,790 ft) – 07 hours.

  • Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,430 m-7,972 ft)- 06 hours.

  • Day 05: Trek to Langtang village (3,430 m-11,253 ft) – 06 hours.

  • Day 06: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3, 749 m-12,300 ft) – 03 hours.

  • Day 07: Kyanjin Gompa, Day Excursion to Tsergo Ri (5,007 m-16,422 ft) – 08 hours.

  • Day 08: Trek to Lama Hotel – 06 hrs.

  • Day 09: Lama Hotel to Thulo Sybru Village (2210m7248ft) – 04 hrs.

  • Day 10: Sybru Village to Sing Gompa (3210m/10528ft) – 05 hrs.

  • Day 12: Gosaikund to Gopte (3440m/11283f) – 06 hrs.

  • Day 13: Ghopte to Kutung sang(2621m/8596ft) – 06 hrs.

  • Day 14: Kutung sang to Chisopani (2194m/7196ft) – 06 hrs.

  • Day 15: Chisopani to Kathmandu via Sundari jal. – 06 hrs.

Detail Itinerary


  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

    Our representative will come to the airport for transfer to the Hotel. After some refreshment in the hotel, Our Tour leader will conduct a pre departure meeting in the Hotel or at our office. The meetings will covers trip related information & the collecting your Documents (passport copy, 2 passport size photos, Travel insurance copy).

  • Day 02: Kathmandu: Free day for Trek preparation.

    Breakfast, free day for trek preparation. You can do your own activities OR, you can do sightseeing tour in Kathmandu valley with visiting fascinating world heritage and cultural sites. There are few places that are worth to visit such as Hindus holy Pashupatinath temple, Bouddhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Durbar Squire ( One is in Kathmandu, in patan and also in Bhaktapur), Museum,  monasteries, old historical Palaces and Gardens. Note:  this tour is optional so you can visit with place of your interest & pay locally. Meals included: Breakfast.

  • Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi (1,460 m-4,790 ft) – 07 hours.

    We start after the breakfast, scenic drive by Jeep through rural towns and farm villages on the winding hilly road to Trisuli Bazaar. We start ascending after here and reach entrance of Langtang National Park in Dhunche 1,965 m high which is headquarter of Rasuwa district. We will continue driving and process to each Syabrubesi village.

  • Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,430 m-7,972 ft)- 06 hours.

    We begin hiking from here with crossing bridge over upper Trisuli River, and then gentle uphill trail through forest and river valley to reach Bamboo. After nice break continue walk with the last uphill through cool shade of forest with rhododendron, oaks and pines trees and enter a river gorge to reach Lama Hotel in the middle of forest for overnight.

  • Day 05: Trek to Langtang village (3,430 m-11,253 ft) – 06 hours.

    Temperature is cooler in the shade of the forest. Spot the rare and elusive Red Panda and other wildlife. Walk starts by following the river valley with thick forest, then passing a few small settlements to reach a nice place at Ghoretabla meaning “Horse-Stable”. In the early days this was a horse breeding area. The horses are of Tibetan pony breed, smaller but strong and sure footed to survive on high terrain and altitude. After a nice break and lunch, We hike to Langtang village which is a lovely village with the inhabitant of Bhotia’s and Tamang people, native of Langtang area settled here for hundreds years however Langtang villages was badly destroyed by the avalanche after the earthquake in 2015, so we need to walk little further into new locality of Langtang village.

  • Day 06: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3, 749 m-12,300 ft) – 03 hours.

    It is an easy hiking day to Kyanjin Gompa, We start with gentle uphill and once enter a side path then valley opens up with awesome views of surrounding landscapes with snow capped mountains looking towards Dorji Lakpa, Langtang Lirung, Tsego ri, Langshsisa and Naya Kanga peak.

    This magnificent place is named after a small run down old Gompa (monastery) and is truly a beautiful spot. In the afternoon explore the surrounding or hike into the hills just above Kanjin Gompa. There is also a Yak Cheese Factory explore which was established 30 years ago with Swiss support.

  • Day 07: Kyanjin Gompa, Day Excursion to Tsergo Ri (5,007 m-16,422 ft) – 08 hours.

    We have a long adventurious day to go to Tsergo Ri (5,033 m-16,512 ft) that offers spectacular views of surrounding mountains at close distance. Enjoy the great panorama of Chimsedang Lekh and the Kangjal Himal, a ridge of peaks bordering the valley to the south, Naya Kanga (5,844 m-19,173 ft) and stunning views of the great mountains flanking the Langtang valley, including Ganchenpo (6,387 m-20,955 ft), Dorje Lakpa (6,990 m-22,933 ft), Pemthang Karpo Ri (6,830 m-22,408 ft), Langtang Lirung (7,245 m-23,770 ft) and across the northern boundary in Tibet see the massive Shishapangma (8,046 m-26,398 ft), which is 14th world’s highest mountain, We return back the same way to Kanjin Gompa for overnight.

  • Day 08: Trek to Lama Hotel – 06 hrs.

    After an enjoyable time in Kyanjin and Langtang valley, We start our return journey with descending to Langtang village and Ghoretablea following the Langtang Khola through cool shade of a forest to reach Lama Hotel for overnight.

  • Day 09: Lama Hotel to Thulo Sybru Village (2210m7248ft) – 04 hrs.

    From Lama Hotel the trail descends till Paira Lodge. Then the trail ascent  through the forest after  crossing the river, climbing to Syabru Village.

  • Day 10: Sybru Village to Sing Gompa (3210m/10528ft) – 05 hrs.

    Passing Schools and gompas the trail ascent through the forest of hemlock and oak until trail Dursagang (2660m). Then the trail gradually ascent through forest Sing Gompa.  Sing Gompa is popular for Yak cheese factory and Buddhist monastery.

  • Day 11: Sing Gompa to Gosaikunda (4380m14366ft) – 04 hrs.

    The trail climbs gradually up to Lauirbina Yak (3920m). From Lauirbina Yak, you can see panoramic mountain views of Nepal and Tibet Himalayan range. Then continue trek up to a small temple with a statue of Sakyamuni and further climbing you can see good views of Saraswati kunda and  Bhairav Kunda and  reach to Gosaikund.

  • Day 12: Gosaikund to Gopte (3440m/11283f) – 06 hrs.

    The trail leads to the northern side of Gosaikunda Lake and passing three more small lakes; you will reach Laurebina pass (4610m15120ft). The trail descends to Phedi (3740m). We continue trek to Ghopte with following up and down trail.

  • Day 13: Ghopte to Kutung sang(2621m/8596ft) – 06 hrs.

    From Ghopte, the trail ascent from and again trail ascent to Tharepati. The trail descends through fir and rhododendron forest observing the beautiful mountain views of Mt. Dorje Lakpa range on its way to Khutumsang (2450m).

  • Day 14: Kutung sang to Chisopani (2194m/7196ft) – 06 hrs.

    The trail descends to the delightful hill village of Gul Bhanjyang. And again trail ascent until Thodang Betini and we continue trek down to  Pati Bhanjyang (1860m) and exploring  a Brahman and Chhetri village. Then the trail proceeds to Chisopani.

  • Day 15: Chisopani to Kathmandu via Sundari jal. – 06 hrs.

    The route goes forward through the forest of oak and rhododendron, and brings you to Borlang Bhanjyang (2440m). After we trek down to Mulkharka (1800m) from where you can see spectacular view of Kathmandu valley. Descending through the forest to Sundarijal. And we drive back to Kathmandu by car.

  • Day 16: Departure

    Breakfast, transfer to Tribhuvan International airport for departing from Nepal.
