Overview

Tsum Valley Trekking lies under the majestic mountains of Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and Sringi Himal.  These striking valleys have a population of about 4000 people from tribal group known as “Tsumbas”.  The local people are mostly of Tibetan origin and speak distinctive language. The trail are spotted with creative chortens and lined with Mani walls. The thousands of stone portions carved with drawings of deities and decorated with prayers flag. Chortens Buddhist religious monuments are distinct features in Tsum Valley.

Tsum Valley used to be the confined zone inside the Tibet Nepal outskirt till 2008. This place totally possessed by Tibetans who moved 100s of years back. Detail Itinerary


  • Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu (1,310 m-4,297 ft):

    Our Airport Rep. will meet you in the in the Airport And Transfer into the Hotel. Our tour leader will hold the pre-departure meeting in the Hotel or at our Head office. The briefing will be cover whole itinerary and collection ofDocuments (such as copy of your passport, Travel insurance, 2 each Passport size photos and onward flight tickets to reconfirm).   • Day 02: Kathmandu.

    Guided city tour & Trek Preparation: Explore Kathmandu’s rich and diverse culture, including the Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath, Swayambunath (Monkey Temple) and Patan Durbar Square.

  • Day 03: Arughat (640 m-2,099 ft) approx-7 hrs drive.

    Breakfast in the Hotel & drive from Kathmandu by Jeep to Arughat via Dhadingbesi, headquarter of the Dhading district. The dirt & narrow road starts from Dhadingbesi. It has awesome scenic views of greenery hills, country habitats, rivers & flat farm land of Salantar before we reach Arughat. Arughat is a beautiful town in the region at the lap of Budi gandaki river which is divided the town in two parts. (B,L,D)

  • Day 04: Soti Khola (730m-2,395ft): Approx- 5 hrs.

    We begin our trek from here & follow the valley of Budhi Gandaki river. Start the hike with stone-paved street & flat trail route. We pass through the hydro- electric power plant, harvesting fields of rice and millet; we also need to walk through mini forests before reaching at Shanti Bazar. We cross the Arkhet Khola on a suspension bridge, passing the mini market of Arkhet Bazar. Pass through the cascading waterfall ascends up to the ridge of Kuerepani before descends to Soti Khola.   • Day 05: Maccha Khola (890 m-2,919 ft): Approx- 6 hrs.

    Trek starts after the breakfast & walk through the forests, then climb onto a ridge above huge rapids on the Budhi Gandaki. We follow the rocky trail with its way up and down, past two beautiful waterfalls before we reach Labubesi at nice settlement of Gurung Village. A Gentle Climb & descends will brings to Machha Khola village. (B,L,D)

  • Day 06: Jagat (2,360 m-7,742 ft): Approx- 6 hrs.

    We follow the narrow trail & reach Tharo Khola, flowing in a rocky ravine, then we reach Khorlabesi. We have a gentle ascent & then descend before we reach Tatopani (Hot Spring). We climb over a ridge and cross the Budhi Gandaki river on a suspension bridge. A short Climb will bring us to Dobhan. We start ascending & reach at Yaru Khola. Crossing a bridge of  Yaru Khola and we climb the stone stairs before we drop to the river. A short climb will take us to Tharo Bharyang. Cross to the west bank of the Budhi Gandaki and trek along the river before we climb towards the Jagat Village. (B,L,D)

  • Day 07: Chisopani (1,660 m-5,446 ft): Approx- 4 hrs.

    We go through the Permit check point & climb to the village Salleri from where we descend to Sirdibas. We start climbing to Ghatta Khola. Continue upstream to a long simple hanging bridge and get to a large Gurung village Philim which is well known for Japanese made school and police station. We walk through the small forest with the views of the narrowing valley and  reach Chisopani. (B,L,D)

  • Day 08: Chumling (2,398 m-7,867 ft): Approx- 6 hrs.

    We walk to the Ekle Bhatti cross the gorge and waterfall before we get into beautiful pine tree forests and descend down to the trail that separate the trail of Manaslu trail & Tsum Valley. It is an beautiful walking day through the pine and rhododendron forests including the awesome view of  Himalchuli and Boudha Himal from Lokpa. It is nice small beautiful village. We descend to Lungwa khola and climb two hours to reach Gumlung. We will cross the Siyar Khola before reaching Chumling and Visit Chumling gompa, and village. (B,L,D)

  • Day 09: Chokhangparo (3,020 m-9,908 ft): Approx- 4 hours.

    This is beautiful hiking day you can enjoy the view of great Himalayan range of Ganesh Himal & Himalchuli. Hike through the Rainjam to Serpu Khola and cross a bridge before arriving at the Gho Village.  From here ascend approx. 2 hours to the village of Chhokangparo. (B,L,D)

  • Day 10: Nile (3,370 m-11,056 ft): Approx- 5 hrs.

    Start Climbing & get to the Lamagaon crossing the bridge to reach Rachen Gompa & have a short look around. Hike to Shiar Khola and trek continue to Lar & pass through the micro hydro power station as well. Continue walking to Chhule which has an old historic Stupa of Buddha, then a gentle climb to Nile.   • Day 11: Mu Gompa (3,715 m-12,188 ft): Approx- 3 hrs.

    Start walking very near to the Tibetan border. A short climb will bring you to Mu Gompa. (B,L,D)

  • Day 12: Mu Gompa, Day Rest & Hiking around to visit Monastery.

    Today is an easy day & exploring around Mu Gompa region. Mu Gompa is the largest monastery in the area. This Mu Gompa lies at the highest point of the village and at remote part of the Tsum Valley. There are few more options to explore you can set with our guide & decide with situation after visiting this monastery. (B,L,D)

  • Day 13: Burgi Village (3,260m-10,696ft) via Milarepa cave: Approx. 5 hrs.

    hiking back to  Chhule and Phurbe, on the east bank of the Shiar Khola. Climb up to the Milarepa’s Cave and see the great view of Poshyop Glacier, Kipu Himal and Churke himal. After this all we will walk back to the Tiny beautiful village Burgi. (B,L,D)

  • Day 14: Chumling (2,398m-7,867ft): Approx. 6 hrs.

    Trek continue & back to Chumling (B,L,D)

  • Day 15: Philim (1,570 m-5,150 ft) Approx- 6 hrs.

    Coming back to Philim. (B,L,D)

  • Day 16: Khorlabesi (990 m-3,248ft): Approx- 6 hrs.

    We continue trek back to Khorlabesi via Jagat and Tatopani. (B,L,D)

  • Day 17: Khorlabesi to Soti Khola (730 m-2,395 ft): Approx- 5 hrs.

    We continue trek back to Soti Khola (B,L,D)

  • Day 18: Soti Khola to Arughat to Kathmandu (640 m-2,099 ft).

    It is going to be long day today, We trek back to Arughat that will approx. takes 4 hours & Drive approx 7 hours to through the same road to Kathmandu (B,L,D)

  • Day 19: Rest day in kathmandu for shopping & refreshing from the trek. (B)

    Breakfast, transfer to the Airport for departure flight back home. Goodbye & Happy Journey.
