The winding road to Namo Buddha hill station adds to the adventure. Namo-Buddha is a great destination to learn about local life and visit a famous Buddhist monastery. Inside the Monastery grounds, we can witness monks praying for their devotees. The Kathmandu Rim Trek continues with a hike to the historic hamlet of Panauti before returning to Kathmandu via car.

Our journey begins with a picturesque drive to Changunarayan Temple, one of India’s oldest temples and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The temple is also notable for its architectural excellence and religious significance. After a picturesque drive to Nagarkot, the hike resumes. Similarly, the well-known viewpoint provides breathtaking views of the nation’s famous Himalayas at sunrise and dusk. We’ll walk from Nagarkot to Chisapani and then to Shivapuri. We will have the opportunity to observe the unique flora and fauna of Shivapuri National Park before continuing to Kakani, one of the most popular holiday locations near Kathmandu Valley.

This marvelous cultural and scenic journey starts with a short one-hour drive to the eastern suburb of Kathmandu valley, Sundarijal.  Sundarijal is located  15 k.m from Kathmandu city. The trek begins with an uphill walk passing many small farm villages with beautiful waterfalls. Reach the entrance of Shivapuri National Park and begin to walking into Shivapuri Reserved Forest through the rhododendron, pines, and oak forests before reaching the ridge of the forest. Here, the air is cooler, situated at 2,340 m-7,766 ft. It overlooks a grand vista of Annapurna-Manaslu-Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himal, towards the Jugal Himal range.

Start early to catch the stunning sunrise over an array of snow-capped peaks. Take a pleasant walk on a gradual, winding, wider trail through an enchanting forested area in a peaceful setting. And descend to Chowki-bhanjyang, a small farm village, and mid way point to Nagarkot.

After a pleasant stop walk on a gradual winding path through farm terraces and villages, once reaching Jarsing Pawa (1,700 m–5,557 ft), we have a gentle ascent to one of the most touristic spots, Nagarkot hill station, a small town that offers a grand vista of the mountains. Nagarkot is located at an elevation of 2,100 m–6,889 ft and is famous for stunning sunrises and sunset views reflecting its light on a range of snow-capped mountains from Mt. Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang-Jugal Himal, Mt. Gauri Shanker, and all the way to the eastern horizon towards the Everest region.  (Meals: B)
